Options on Genta available at Philly Exchange
The Philly Stock Exchange announced it will be trading
options on Genta (GNTA) beginning 10/16. While this often adds volatility to stock prices,
it opens up the number of institutions who are willing to participate in the stock.
Dendreon may present study data 12/7
We recently learned Dendreon may have data from recent
Mylovenge studies ready in time to present in the "Super Friday" sessions at the
December 7th ASH conference. There is some question as to whether the data will be ready
in time, so it is a little up in the air for now. If the data is not ready, the
presentation will be on already released data on Dendreon's cancer vaccine candidates.
General NIBM Model Portfolio comments
The portfolio had a good couple of weeks, breaking into
positive territory and continuing its record of outperforming both the S&P-500 and the
AMEX Biotech Index. We contemplate no changes in the portfolio except for the potential
additions of some medical device companies we are currently examining. However, as we get
closer to to the 10/31 Novartis analyst meeting and Iloperidone presentation, we may take
profits on the most recent of three separate positions taken in Titan -- currently up
14.24% (10/15 close).
